- R・バース氏の欠場について

11/18（日）に開催される『阪神タイガースOB会創立40周年 読売テレビ開局55年ダイワハウススペシャル阪神×巨人OB戦』へ出場を予定しておりましたR・バース氏ですが、健康上の理由により欠場することが決定いたしましたのでお知らせいたします。
また、本人よりメッセージが届きましたので、ご紹介いたします。
Dear Tigers fans,
It is with great sadness and regret that I need to cancel my upcoming trip to Japan. I will be unable to attend the Tigers and Giants baseball game November 18、 2012. I was really looking forward to the game and seeing everyone!
October 11, 2012, Dr. Srouji of the Oklahoma Retina Clinic had to perform emergency surgery on my left eye due to a detached retina. During this surgery, he used a laser to reattach my retina and then inserted gas into my eye to keep the retina in place. I am slowly recovering. However, Dr.Srouji is unwillingly to take me off of the Do Not Fly list until November 28, 2012. Flying could cause the gas bubble to burst, and I could permanently loose vision in my left eye.
I wish all of my Tigers team mates good luck! I truly wish I could be there to enjoy this day with you.
You know I believe the Tigers fans are the best in the world and again I am very sorry that I will not be there to play on November 18, 2012, but I will be there in spirit. I very much look forward to the next opportunity to play ball for you!

阪神×巨人ＯＢ戦への出場をキャンセルすることとなり、大変残念に思っております。
１０月１１日に、左目の網膜の緊急手術を受けたのですが、担当医によると飛行機に搭乗することは危険であるとの判断でした。
タイガースのチームメイトの健闘を祈願しております。
世界一のタイガースファンの前でプレーできないことを本当に残念に思っています。しかし、私の魂は甲子園にあります。次回皆さんの前でプレイできることを楽しみにしております。
